Coaches:
Coaches from many destinations in the UK arrive at Nottingham Broadmarsh Bus Station (see map below) and can be booked online with National Express. Usually coaches take longer than trains, but are cheaper (around £50.00 for a return ticket) and offer direct transportation to Nottingham.
On the other hand, train connections from Birmingham and Manchester, as well as London St. Pancras (train station) are comfortable and quick, but train connections from the London area airports to London St. Pancras are often delayed and/or overcrowded.

Trains:
Train tickets to Nottingham can most easily be obtained online.
The train station is located to the South of the city centre, which can be reached from the train station in 5-10 minutes of walking. Directly outside the train station is a taxi rank. A taxi takes about 15 minutes to University Park Campus and costs about £8.00 - £10.00. Alternatively, “Indigo” buses leave from Bay 3 at the Broadmarsh Bus Station, which can be found about 200m North of the train station (just follow Carrington Street, see map), every 8-10 minutes. |
Getting to University Park Campus:
The Mathematical Sciences building and the Physics building are located at the South-East corner of the University Park Campus (buildings numbered 20 and 22 respectively on this map).
University Park Campus can be reached from the city centre of Nottingham using the bus lines 13, 14, 34, 35, 36 (all operated by Nottingham City Tranport (NCT)), Indigo (operated by Trent Barton) or Y36. A full list of bus connections to University Park Campus can be found here. Ticket prices for adults during daytime are £1.70 for a single ticket and £3.40 for an all-day ticket (NCT)/two-trip ticket (Indigo). All bus operators also sell a “Kangaroo ticket” for £4.00 which is valid all day long on all buses/operators in the greater Nottingham area. Tickets can be purchased from the drivers on the bus, but be aware that drivers on NCT buses do not give change. The bus journey takes about 15-20 minutes from the city centre to University Park Campus, depending on traffic. |
